FAQs

What is a plinth?

A plinth is an elevated platform for artwork or products to be displayed on. They can be for both functional and aesthetic purposes, from bringing a sculpture closer to eye level to contributing to the overall visual thematic experience. All in all, they are to enhance the viewer’s experience of the display.

What types of plinths do you hire out?

All our plinths for hire are made of MDF. Most of the plinths have been coated in white paint as their final colour.

What if I don’t know what size plinth to hire?

Here is our Plinth Gallery that shows the different plinths we provide which includes their spec. Of course, we can also discuss and help you decide based on your needs, too :)

Do you make bespoke plinths?

Yes! Specific plinth sizes and finishes can be discussed to make the right plinth/s for you.

Can I view the plinths before committing?

Absolutely :)

What is the minimum hire period?

While there is no minimum number of days to hire, the minimum spend is £40.

Do you provide delivery service?

We can arrange delivery for you by booking an Addison Lee courier. We'll send you a quote and if you go ahead this fee will be added to the invoice.

Are there any other additional costs I should be aware of?

Nope! Just your hire fee and possible Addison Lee costs.

What if I damage the plinth during the hire period?

If minor scuff marks occur, that is okay. If there is any structural damage to the plinth, then there will be a charge of £100. If the plinth is non-repairable after the damage then a fee of £300 will be charged to go towards its replacement.

What happens if I misplace the plinth or it’s stolen?

You must return the plinth (in adequate condition) and if not, you will be charged a fee of £300.

Can I use glue on the plinth?

It depends on the type of glue. Please contact us to discuss this.

What is your cancellation policy?

For hired plinths, you can receive a full refund up to 24 hours before the date of hire. For bespoke plinths, you can get a full refund by cancelling within 2 days of making the booking. After this, you can receive a 50% refund, as by this point we would have made a start on your project.
